Elektropolieren ist ein elektrochemisches Verfahren zur Verbesserung der Oberfl\u00e4chenbeschaffenheit eines Teils, bei dem Material abgetragen wird, um mikroskopisch kleine Erhebungen und Vertiefungen auszugleichen. Mit diesem Verfahren k\u00f6nnen die Teile poliert, passiviert und entgratet werden. Dieses Verfahren funktioniert auf die entgegengesetzte Weise wie das Galvanisieren, da das Teil bei der Reaktion als Anode fungiert. Wenn der Strom durch das Teil (Anode) flie\u00dft, wird die Oberfl\u00e4che oxidiert und in der L\u00f6sung zur Kathode hin aufgel\u00f6st.

Elektropolieren ist sehr n\u00fctzlich beim Polieren unregelm\u00e4\u00dfiger Teile mit schwer zug\u00e4nglichen Oberfl\u00e4chen.
